This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacist role based in Bethpage, NY. The Pharmacist will review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and clinical appropriateness, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company policies. Responsibilities include counseling patients on proper medication use, side effects, interactions, and adherence strategies, both in person and via supported communication channels. The Pharmacist will oversee medication preparation, dispensing, and quality checks, collaborating closely with pharmacy technicians and support staff to maintain efficient workflows.
The role also involves using Alto’s technology platform to manage patient profiles, coordinate refills and prior authorizations, optimize insurance and cost options, and contribute to continuous process improvements and patient care initiatives.
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license (PharmD or equivalent) in the state of New York; in good standing with all applicable regulatory boards.
- Strong clinical pharmacy knowledge, including drug indications, contraindications, dosing, interactions, and therapy monitoring.
- Experience with medication counseling, patient education, and supporting adherence for diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems, e‑prescribing tools, and technology-enabled workflows; comfort working in a tech-forward environment.
- Knowledge of insurance plans, prior authorizations, and cost-optimization strategies to help patients access medications affordably.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance in all dispensing and documentation activities.
- Previous experience in a community, specialty, or digital pharmacy setting is preferred; experience in high-volume or tech-enabled operations is a plus.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical tasks required in an on‑site pharmacy environment.
