Phlebotomist- Float; Suffolk

Locations

Central Suffolk County – Deer Park, Smithtown, Islip, Sayville, Bay Shore, Stony Brook, Islandia, Holbrook.

Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 7:00am-3:30pm and rotating Sundays 8:00am-12:00pm.

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or 3 months or more of phlebotomy experience.

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency if not previously obtained through work experience.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Pay Range: $17.75 - $26.00 per hour.

Float Incentive:
Additional $1.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.

Employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Employees scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are eligible to participate only in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible for all benefits except PTO or FTO.
