SummaryWe are seeking a Safety & Risk Control Consultant based in NY, NJ, or CT to support our industry‑leading team. In this role, you will deliver effective, innovative risk control solutions to NFP clients as part of our Safety and Risk Consulting team.
This is a full‑time opportunity with the option of working remotely when not traveling to regional client sites (Primarily in NY, NJ, CT, PA and National as needed). Travel required up to 50%.
Candidate Characteristics- Experience in Safety and Risk Control with a property/casualty insurance carrier, broker or consultant
- Experience conducting property risk control surveys, including evaluation of physical hazards, fire protection, life safety, and organizational controls
- Experience evaluating and improving fleet safety programs, including driver training, motor vehicle record (MVR) review, regulatory compliance, and vehicle‑related loss control strategies
- Effective in implementing safety programming and risk management programs for a variety of commercial industry segments, including the construction industry
- Conduct safety and loss control surveys of clients’ operations with proficient understanding of exposures and controls, across all industries
- Acts as a liaison to designated insurance markets, participates in business planning and bridges the Risk Management discipline between client, carriers and NFP
- Capable of working effectively and collaboratively with client decision‑makers, insurance risk control professionals, sales professionals and client managers
- A client‑centric mindset that with an exceptionally strong ability to build relationships with clients at all levels of their organizations
- Effectively analyze risk exposures, loss trends, and effectiveness of safety controls and develop recommendations and service plans designed to reduce loss frequency
- Prepare written report of findings and recommendations for corrective actions
- Knowledge and experience in safety and risk management training programs at the management, supervisory, employee and regulatory compliance level. Solid presentation and training skills a must
- Ability to locate, interpret, and apply relevant local, state, and federal rules, regulations, and standards like OSHA, NFPA, DOT, and FMCSA.
- Resides within approximately 45 minutes of a major airport to support regional and national travel requirements
- 5+ years of experience in safety, loss control, P&C insurance risk management, or related field
- BA or BS degree from an accredited institution
- Meets the eligibility requirements to obtain professional safety and risk management designations such as CSP, ASP, CHST, ALCM, ARM, PRM, CRMP, PRC, or similar; attainment of these credentials is highly preferred.
- Meets OSHA 500 and OSHA 510 prerequisites; completion of either certification is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required
- Strong data analysis skills
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using safety and risk control web‑based systems, platforms, and applications
- Proven safety and risk control training and public speaking experience
- Excellent written communication skills

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 – $115,000.
The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
