SummaryThe Account Executive interacts with clients on a day-to-day basis while developing and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives. You will prepare applications, specifications and marketing strategy for new business as well as the renewals of assigned clients with some degree of supervision and approval from their supervisor. This role may require you to take on the role of lead consultant and primary point of contact for their assigned clients.
This team services a generalist book of business with a significant Real Estate concentration, providing strong exposure and long-term growth in this sector. This is a full‑time position. Working in the office is required and is essential for fostering collaboration and career connections. We offer the flexibility of a hybrid schedule from either our Plainview, NY or Midtown Manhattan offices.
- Negotiates terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
- Works with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
- Prepares client proposals, according to NFP standardization, from carrier quotes that reflect an accurate presentation of the coverage terms, pricing, exposure basis, renewal comparisons, and marketing results. Highlights coverage gaps or differences so the insured is aware of any potential limitation or lack of coverage in the event of a loss.
- Ensures accurate information such as updated exposures, driver information, reporting forms, signed endorsements and miscellaneous information to avoid any E&O claims.
- Maintains a diary (follow‑up system) to ensure policies, endorsements and other information are received to comply with requests.
- May supervise or direct the daily job activities of the Coordinators and Account Managers.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and client visits. Keeps clients apprised of relevant industry trends and events, including all state and federal regulatory issues.
- Excellent written communication skills – writes clearly; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numeric data effectively; reads and interprets written information.
- Self‑confident to make sound independent decisions.
- Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people and personalities.
- Technical expertise plus good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to handle situations calmly, courteously, and professionally.
- Strong attention to detail, decision‑making skills, and problem resolution.
- Typically more than 5 years of Commercial Lines experience, including a recent tenure with a retail insurance brokerage or independent agency.
- Experience managing a book of middle‑market accounts (estimated revenue of up to $1 MM) is required.
- In‑depth knowledge of insurance coverages and ability to communicate this knowledge clearly to clients and underwriters.
- Understanding of marketplace trends and best practices to meet clients’ needs.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze loss summaries to support renewals and client strategy.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with EPIC preferred or other CRM required.
- BA/BS preferred.
- P&C Insurance License required.

In addition, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives. The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location.
Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis.
