Brief
Description:
Our client is seeking an outgoing and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to the production of high-quality metal work pieces.
Job Function:
Key Responsibilities
- Operate one or more machine tools, including special purpose machines and industrial 3- and 4-axis CNC machines, to produce metal work pieces according to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machining requirements in English.
- Monitor machine operations, making adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and precision.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimize downtime.
- Interpret drawings (GD&T principles), manufacturing process specifications, and manipulate 3D models used in preparation for machining.
- Employee is competent and trustworthy to safely perform with minimum supervision and meet the requirements of the Machine Shop.
- Able to operate program and operate CNC.
- Ability to use all Modern and Conventional (Bridgeport, lathe, drill press, press brake, etc) Machine Shop equipment.
- Ability to Design and Fabricate jigs, fixtures, tools and dies for ease of machining or manufacturing parts in volume in a consistent and repetitive manner
- Ability to identify appropriate materials and tool hardness for varying applications and maintain shop supply inventory
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machines, particularly 3- and 4-axis CNC equipment.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tools, and measurement techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications in English.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
