Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Internal Med- Per diem

About This Role

The Registered Nurse in Ambulatory Internal Medicine provides comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This per diem role is ideal for nurses who excel in collaborative environments and possess strong clinical judgment.

• Pay: $33 - $55/hour
• Location: Plainview, NY
• Facility: Northwell Health
• Schedule: Per Diem

• Assess the patient's physiologic health status through interviews and comprehensive health assessments.
• Evaluate the patient's psychosocial health status and identify cultural/ethnic requirements.
• Develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes and establish individualized patient goals.
• Formulate and document the plan of care, collaborating with physicians and health team members.
• Implement the plan of care while ensuring safety precautions are followed.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their significant others.
• Evaluate care effectiveness and document outcomes for performance improvement.
• Collaborate with care team members and assist during treatments and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications correctly and educate patients on drug interactions.
• Participate in patient and family education, coordinating referrals for follow-up care.

• Education:
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; must enroll in a BSN program within two years and obtain a BSN within five years of job entry
• Experience:
  • 1-2 years of RN experience preferred

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required
