Job Summary
The Delivery Technician is responsible for delivering durable medical equipment to Apria patients in the home. The anticipated salary range for this position is $22.00 – $25.00 per hour, with compensation potentially varying based on experience, skills, education, and location.
Responsibilities- Pull, pack, deliver, and pick up medications, supplies, and basic equipment.
- Instruct patients on basic use of respiratory therapy equipment, durable medical equipment, oxygen equipment, and other equipment/services approved by state licensure limitations.
- Load and unload durable medical and infusion equipment onto the delivery vehicle.
- Respond to emergency delivery calls during regular business hours and on an on‑call basis.
- Complete required paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick‑up and delivery forms, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Distribute paperwork to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain the supply component of patient profiles.
- Notify supervisor if any of the following are discovered in a patient’s home:
- Physical abuse of any family member
- An unsafe home environment for the care ordered, such as unsanitary conditions or insufficient food for children
- Animals or other conditions that cause unsanitary conditions
- Assist with cleaning and repair of equipment.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance, checking gasoline, oil, tire pressure, and brakes.
- Report malfunctions to supervisor.
- Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent education or experience.
- At least one year of related experience.
- Minimum age of 21 years at the time of hire.
- Minimum of three years of driving experience.
- Successful completion of Apria Healthcare’s Driver Training Program.
- Must meet job‑related requirements to comply with D.O.T., F.D.A., and the standards of accrediting bodies.
- Valid driver’s license specific to the vehicle used in this role.
- Compliance with D.O.T., F.D.A., and accrediting body standards.
English (reading, writing, and verbal).
Physical Demands- Use of hands to handle tools, controls, and documents.
- Reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift objects ranging from 10lbs to 100lbs.
- Perform activities requiring walking, standing, kneeling, reaching, and stooping.
- Operate a motor vehicle and perform routine vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet vision requirements for safe operation and documentation tasks.
- Daily physical tasks may include climbing stairs, moving through doorways, and carrying objects for distances up to 350ft.
