Required QualificationsPart‑Time Registered Dental Hygienist
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an approved dental hygiene training program.
- Licensed to practice dental hygiene by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
- Professionally clean teeth including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing.
- Present instructions on proper personal oral hygiene.
- Capture digital radiographs.
- Administer topical fluoride.
- Disinfect surfaces and dental equipment.
- Sterilize dental instruments according to OSHA regulations.
- Takes thorough inventory of instruments through daily counts and logs.
- Serve as Dental Assistant when needed.
- Maintain proper record keeping in both manual and automated systems.
- Ensure dental supplies are on hand and ordered in a timely manner.
- Answer sick call requests and schedule patients in a timely manner.

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H‑1B I‑129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case‑by‑case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change‑of‑status or change‑of‑employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
