GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESAs a full-time (9 month) faculty member, the Assistant Professor of Computer Science will be primarily responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate computer science courses. Additionally, faculty members are expected to have an authentic Christian faith that is evident through their personal interactions and activities, commitment to a local church body, and is a model for our students. Faculty should seek out mentoring relationships with the students through opportunities such as academic advising, undergraduate research, and student organization support.

QUALIFICATIONSA commitment to and an agreement with the purposes and philosophy of Christian higher education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in general and Wayland Baptist University in particular.
Doctorate in Computer Science or closely related field with at least eighteen graduate hours in computer science. ABD applicants will also be considered.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE- Endorsement by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Able to pass background checks.
- Must have no delinquent or defaulted items on Credit Report. A credit check will be conducted to ensure the requirement is met.
Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance. If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of the hire date to establish his or her identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Naturalization Services. Employees must be able and willing to travel. Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license.
Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
