Senior Cloud Engineer IS - Hybrid

Description

Cloud Service Engineers work in partnership with developers, testers, and program managers, typically early in the development process, to design, operate, grow, and improve large‑scale cloud‑based services offered to IS and non‑IS caregivers. Their technical skills are on par with their Development, Test, and Program Management counterparts.

We are seeking a senior cloud engineer to manage Azure infrastructure for a hybrid environment supporting PHI/PII data.

• Senior level experience designing, engineering, operating, and administering Microsoft Azure (IaaS and PaaS) solutions, including monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Extensive experience configuring and managing Azure networking components, including VNETs, subnets, Private Endpoints, and Express Route.
• Hands‑on experience implementing, managing, and enforcing Azure Policy in complex enterprise environments.
• Proficient in deploying and managing cloud infrastructure (IaC) using Terraform and Azure CLI tools. Scripting with common automation frameworks to develop and maintain a comprehensive runbook library.
• Proficient in building and troubleshooting servers in both VMware and Hyper‑V environments.
• Hands‑on experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise server operating systems.
• Expertise in securing and supporting hybrid environments subject to compliance and regulatory requirements (PHI/PII).
• Ability to support an on‑call rotation and respond to production incidents outside normal business hours.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create technical presentations/documents. Basic project management.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Experience leveraging data and metrics to drive behavior, process, and priority decisions, using logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions.
• Systematic problem solving and root cause analysis skills.

• Experience in a healthcare environment.
• Creating and managing server images with Packer.
• Experience with Desired State Configuration (DSC) using AWX.
• Knowledge of implementing security controls such as CIS and NIST.
• Experience with Azure Dev Ops and Service Now.
