Hutchinson Public Schools is looking for a Family Support Worker. This is a 20-30 hour per week position and starts at $16.75 per hour. A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate's Degree is preferred. Training or coursework in human services, social work, education, family services, or a related field is also preferred. In accordance with federal requirements, employees that work directly with families on the family partnership process must obtain, within 18 months of hire, a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field.
Experience working with both adults and preschool-aged children is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills, cultural sensitivity, an understanding of family and child development, and the ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. A valid driver's license, current insurance, and reliable transportation are required. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
