This position assists in the overall operation of the Medication Room at the Bell County Jail in Belton, TX, and distributes patients’ medications from filled prescriptions.

• Medication Administration:
  Safely administer medications to patients. Demonstrate basic medication knowledge, includingpurposes, common side effects, and appropriate administrationroutes.
• Documentation:
  Ensure proper documentation of all medication administration, including refusals, in the EHR.
• Medication Preparation and Inventory Management:
  Prepare dailymedication carts, blister packs, and supplies needed for each medpass. Maintain accurate inventory of medications; communicate anymedication shortages, discrepancies, or ordering needs to their supervisor.
• Medication Verification:
  Verify patient-provided medicationsupon intake by contacting the dispensing pharmacy to confirmprescription details.
