Dimmitt Police Department Now Hiring
The Dimmitt Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applicants must be TCOLE certified, or about to graduate from an academy. We currently have 2 open positions, and they are open until filled.
Applicants must pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening.

Starting pay $45,000/yr ($21.63/hr), with opportunities for overtime. Officers w/ experience; starting pay is DOQ, $3,500 sign on bonus, $1,200/yr. uniform allowance. Pay raise after completing City probationary period and FTO
Total year one base salary potential of $49,500
192 PTO hours per year.
Take home Chevy Tahoe patrol vehicle (MDT, Stalker Radar, Cop Sync).
Sig Sauer P320, Taser 10, AR-15 S w/ suppressor, body armor (and external carrier, pouches), ballistic shield, and uniform pants/shirt are provided.

Baylor Scott and White Insurance, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Included. The city pays 100% of employee cost, minus deductible. The City also provides helicopter insurance for your household.
TMRS retirement 6%, 2-1 Match. Vested at 5yrs.
Work ScheduleWe are currently working 12 hr Panama shifts, with every other weekend off. We have a very supportive City Council/City Manager, which has allowed the department to modernize our equipment within the last several years. The Dimmitt PD is a very proactive department, and enjoys a wide variety of calls, with a modest call volume.
The City of Dimmitt is located in the Southwest Texas Panhandle with a population of approximately 4,000 people. We are approximately 1 hour from Amarillo, TX and 1 hour from Lubbock, TX, and enjoy a low cost of living.
