Position Summary
The Delivery Driver Lead is responsible for the quality and efficiency of the delivery drivers and their operations. In this high impact role, you will serve as a liaison between long term care facilities and delivery staff, train all transport personnel, coordinate work schedules and delivery routes, monitor workflow, and conduct routine staff meetings.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate work schedules and delivery routes.
- Monitor workflow to analyze patterns and trends.
- Review and set standards for staff.
- Provide timely and accurate delivery of medication, equipment, products and/or supplies into long term care facilities or patient’s homes.
- Conduct routine staff meetings.
- Respect privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient information and property.
- Access only the minimum amount of patient protected health information needed.
- Coordinate all special deliveries with the operations supervisor.
- Maintain vehicles in good and safe condition to comply with DOT, OSHA, state and federal regulations, and Omnicare policies and procedures.
- Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPAA.
- Display behavior exemplifying employee code of conduct guidelines.
- Ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely.
- Perform physical inventories.
- Sort all baskets from V2 according to facility units, location, and delivery times.
- Scan all medication pending for delivery and prepare manifests and ancillary paperwork for nursing facilities.
- Retrieve medication totes from PVII pharmacists for scanning (including STATs).
- Check bins before delivery departure for missed medications.
- Assist pharmacy floor during down times.
- Scan manifests into system for confirmation of delivery.
- Driver’s license in good standing with a clean driving record.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to use routing software (if applicable).
- Ability to drive a standard transmission.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong concentration and task focus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Active listening skills and appropriate questioning.
- Basic math skills for calculating day’s supply of a prescription.
- Problem troubleshooting and decision-making ability.
- Customer service orientation.
The typical pay range for this role is: $18.50 - $42.35 per hour. The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
