Position: INSTRUCTIONAL LEADER - Social Studies Grades PreK-5

Correction Instructional Leader

The Instructional Leader is expected to promote and maintain high standards of excellence in the department's curriculum and instruction so that every child may experience a high-quality education. Instructional leaders will foster teacher leadership within their departments and perform duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and building Principals. The instructional leader position is a 1/2 time, two-year position with an annual review.

This appointment is a two-year, renewable term designed to enable consistent departmental growth while providing fresh opportunities for leadership development within the faculty.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Experience in curriculum planning, development, implementation, and technology integration
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • Professional Educator Certificate, Department Chair (105), or Intermediate Administration Certification (092) preferred, or willing to pursue
  • Active engagement with professional learning networks (e.g., ASCD, NCTE, NCTM) or a proven track record of staying current with pedagogical trends.
  • TEAM trained or willing to pursue within a year
  • Strong understanding of and ability to lead and facilitate PLC/data team
  • Attend monthly Curriculum Council meetings during the school year
  • Attend 2-5 summer Curriculum Council meetings (June and August)

Stipend Amount: $3,471.50  school year)
