About the Opportunity

The In-Line Inspector is responsible for the inspection of all products and raw materials, under the direction of the Business Unit or Cell Lead with technical direction from the Quality Assurance Manager. This is a hands‑on role in a manufacturing setting and is ideal for someone who is reliable, detail‑oriented, and eager to contribute to a high‑performing team.

Location

Plainville, CT – This position is 100% on site, Monday through Friday with overtime available (1st shift: 7:00 am–3:30 pm). This role is 100% onsite and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect products using various inspection gauges, coordinate measuring machine (CMM), scales, and visual inspection prior to product shipment.
  • Collect variable data and complete inspection records.
  • Reconcile final inspection documentation for shipments.
  • Examine material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and other surface irregularities.
  • Compare product with applicable parts list or sample model to ensure completion of assembly.
  • Verify dimensional compliance of all products with drawing and customer requirements.
  • Reject nonconforming products and stop production as needed.
  • Document nonconforming product with NMR process.
  • Perform in‑process inspection and testing of products throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with all applicable mechanical and process related requirements.
  • Observe all Company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety, and security.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Quality Control function in a commercial or Aerospace environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and engineering sketches.
  • Ability to perform simple layout inspections.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Clear communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Ability to keep accurate records.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, work instructions and customer required records.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
Working Conditions
  • Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to climb ladder, work on platforms, and climb stairs.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses) is required on the shop floor.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
