Cook Supervisor

Per Diem

• Lead and supervise dietary personnel, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager to oversee work assignments, contribute to performance evaluations, and assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the manager.
• Prepare and serve meals in accordance with residents  dietary needs; participate in production planning, purchasing, and equipment management.
• Assist in production planning, including forecasting needs and recipe development.
• Procurement and proper storage of food and equipment.
• Ensure the dietary department delivers visually appealing, high-quality meals within budget constraints.
• Operate kitchen equipment and adaptive tools for residents  specialized needs.
• Respond promptly to residents  requests and needs, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager in planning and executing facility-wide special events.

• Must hold Serv Safe Manager certification
• Must be able to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and lift items up to 50 lbs
• Ability to read, write and understand English, perform simple math calculations, measure and record data
• Attention to detail, good follow-through skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to supervise and instruct others
• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred
• Demonstrates cooperation in assisting others and ability to work as a team
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward the residents and their support networks
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff and family members in a professional manner
