LPN - District Floater
Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the float LPN is assigned by the nursing coordinator or director of special services to support specific student health needs, cover RN absences, assist on field trips, and provide additional support to school health offices across all district schools as needed. This role may also include supporting students with complex medical needs with academic/functional skill practice and use of assistive technology tools under the direction of special education certified staff.
Knowledge of first aid, crisis response, and medication administration, as well as strong communication, writing, and organizational skills are essential. Candidates must be able to collaborate effectively with families, school staff, medical providers, and outside agencies. Duties may involve lifting, including use of a hoyer lift, hygiene needs, mobility support, and physical management. Experience with state health regulations, medically complex students, and special education documentation is preferred.
The float LPN position is seven hours per day with a flexible start and end time based on the daily assignment as early as 7:15 and as late as 3:45, following the district school calendar for 182 days per year. Additional days and hours may be added for specific needs (i.e. after school programs, summer programming, etc.). Hourly rate is $37.18 per hour.
