Maintenance Technician III (HVAC Focus)
The Town of Plainville is seeking a skilled, full-time Maintenance Technician III with HVAC experience to join our Buildings & Grounds Department. Plainville is a vibrant, close-knit community of just under 18,000 residents that proudly maintains its welcoming, small-town charm. Position & Compensation Details
- Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours/week - Compensation: $34.47 per hour
- Benefits:
Includes the premium CT State Partnership Plan health insurance and a robust 401A retirement plan (9.5% employer contribution / 6.5% employee contribution).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on Town HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Assist in maintaining public buildings, grounds, parks, and facilities to ensure safety, functionality, and high aesthetic standards.
- Oversee the upkeep and seasonal maintenance of Town swimming pools.
- Assist with Town vehicle maintenance and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
High School diploma or vocational school graduate. - Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the building trades, with proven HVAC experience required. (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered). - Skills:
Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively and cordially with residents, Town staff, contractors, and suppliers.
