Position: Maintenance Technician III with HVAC

Maintenance Technician III (HVAC Focus)

The Town of Plainville is seeking a skilled, full-time Maintenance Technician III with HVAC experience to join our Buildings & Grounds Department. Plainville is a vibrant, close-knit community of just under 18,000 residents that proudly maintains its welcoming, small-town charm. Position & Compensation Details

  • Hours:

    Full-time, 40 hours/week
  • Compensation: $34.47 per hour
  • Benefits:
    Includes the premium CT State Partnership Plan health insurance and a robust 401A retirement plan (9.5% employer contribution / 6.5% employee contribution).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on Town HVAC and plumbing systems.
  • Assist in maintaining public buildings, grounds, parks, and facilities to ensure safety, functionality, and high aesthetic standards.
  • Oversee the upkeep and seasonal maintenance of Town swimming pools.
  • Assist with Town vehicle maintenance and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    High School diploma or vocational school graduate.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the building trades, with proven HVAC experience required. (An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered).
  • Skills:

    Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively and cordially with residents, Town staff, contractors, and suppliers.
