Heavy Equipment Mechanic
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a dynamic construction company. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repair on heavy equipment, including excavators, dump trucks, skid steers, and dozers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Utilize blueprints and schematics for equipment maintenance and repair tasks.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed.
- Use and maintain personal tools for equipment repair and maintenance.
- 3-5 years of heavy equipment or diesel mechanic experience.
- Proficiency in working with excavators, dump trucks, skid steers, and dozers.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
- Capability to perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with forklifts, bulldozers, and construction equipment.
- Knowledge of maintenance repair, industrial engines, and transmission systems.
- Experience with equipment maintenance and fabrication.
- Hydraulics knowledge is a plus.

Work EnvironmentWork primarily takes place at an on-site garage/repair facility or directly on construction sites. This role requires hands-on work with heavy equipment, ensuring a practical and engaging work experience.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainville, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
