Coordinates and provides care for a group of patients spanning all age groups and cultures for a designated time frame using therapeutic means, the laboratory process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members while assuming responsibility and accountability for these patients; responsibilities are to provide patient care in an ambulatory care setting under the clinical supervision of a physician or MD within the guidelines of nursing process and nurse practitioner protocols as outlined in Patient Care Guidelines for Nurse Practitioners.

Medical Assistant

• Graduate of an accredited school, master prepared with a degree as a Nurse Practitioner Massachusetts licensure.
• Departmental specialized training to provide care to patients within role and successful completion of SMH orientation program.

• Command of verbal and written English
• Operation of clinical equipment demonstrates clinical competence.
• Positive interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills.
• Three to five years medical office experience.

Master in Science in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner

CPR certification. MA NP license, DEA & Mass Controlled Substance Registration

Ability to effectively communicate to all age levels served within the scope of the position / assigned areas.

Must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of themselves or other individuals in the workplace, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
