Overview

As a Customer Service Associate, you welcome customers to Lowe's and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You will interact with customers throughout the day, answer questions, assist with locating and handling merchandise, load merchandise when required, and ensure all customer needs are met. Your daily responsibilities may vary by department, which could include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welcome customers to Lowe's, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.
  • Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.
  • Down‑stock merchandise by replenishing supplies on empty shelf areas.
  • Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
  • Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.
  • Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).
  • Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 months’ experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information).
  • 6 months’ experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
  • Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
  • Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
  • Minimal lifting of 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without an accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
  • Bi‑lingual skills.
  • Certification in a trade related to a department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials).
Travel Requirements

This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel to meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores may be necessary.

Working Conditions

Environmental factors vary by location. You may work in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including exposure to extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions. Noise levels may be constant or intermittent, and you may be exposed to moving or shaking objects and equipment. Lifting methods vary: single lifts are limited to 75 pounds. Team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.

Powered equipment should be used as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Pay and Benefits
