Special Education Teacher in Plaistow, NH

Make a meaningful impact throughout the  academic year by supporting elementary students through specialized instruction. This full-time contract opportunity runs from September 2026 to June 2027 and is centered around engaging and dynamic instruction for an elementary caseload. With dedicated hours from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM, you'll have the chance to work closely with students, providing targeted small-group lessons and partnering with classroom teachers through co-teaching.

Preferred candidates will bring prior experience in school-based settings, along with a passion for fostering academic growth in students with diverse learning needs. Youll join a supportive school environment committed to inclusive practices.

Qualifications & Desired

Experience:

• Valid special education teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain in New Hampshire)
• Experience working with elementary students, particularly in special education
• Strong collaborative mindset for co-teaching and team planning
• Skillful in adapting curriculum and instruction for a range of learning abilities
• Excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective IEP-driven instructional strategies in small groups and inclusive settings
• Partner with general education teachers to deliver co-taught lessons
• Monitor and document student progress toward educational goals
• Maintain regular communication with families and multidisciplinary team members
• Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging classroom environment
