Instructional Aide

Provide reading intervention support to students at the 2nd & 3rd grade level. Building Assignment:
Centennial Elementary School

JOB GOAL:
To assist in the instructional process in the assigned attendance center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Paraprofessional Certification
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

REPORTS TO:

Assigned reading specialists/building principal

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide academic support and implement interventions for small groups of students, under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Assist teacher with supervision of students.
• Assists with monitoring students during arrival and dismissal, recess, lunch, and otherwise as needed.
• Assists with the individual needs of students under the direction of the teacher and/or principal.
• Adjusts daily schedule in the best interest of students as communicated by the teacher and/or principal.
• Demonstrates cooperation, courtesy and willingness to improve conditions and situations involving staff, parents and students.
• Attends work regularly, dresses appropriately, is conscious of responsibilities, maintains confidentiality, and conducts tasks with integrity
• Performs other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or teacher.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Nine month contract.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually.

COMPENSATION:
Based on the Plano CUSD 88 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
