Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting and supporting an efficient close process. This position is responsible for key accounting activities including monthly close, account reconciliations, and financial analysis, while partnering closely with operational leaders to ensure consistency and accuracy across the organization. With a strong grasp of accounting standards and business operations, the Senior Accountant contributes to reliable financial statements, continuous process improvement, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.

• Support the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances in a timely manner.
• Prepare variance analyses and provide clear explanations of financial results and trends to internal stakeholders.
• Ensure financial reporting is accurate, complete, and supported by appropriate documentation.

• Act as a primary accounting partner to operational and branch-level leaders, providing guidance and clarity on accounting matters.
• Coordinate and validate intercompany activity and allocations across multiple entities or locations.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and leadership teams to promote consistent reporting practices and financial discipline.

• Assist with internal and external audit activities, including audit preparation and responding to information requests.
• Support adherence to U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies, ensuring audit-ready documentation at all times.

• Participate in accounting process enhancements, including automation efforts and system improvements.
• Support ERP-related initiatives such as upgrades, integrations, or onboarding of newly acquired entities.
• Identify inefficiencies or recurring issues and recommend practical solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in a corporate accounting or public accounting environment preferred.
• CPA or active CPA candidate strongly preferred.

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Hands-on experience with monthly close activities, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-location organizations is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
