Who we’re looking forToyota’s TMNA Corporate Accounting Department seeks a passionate and highly‑motivated Senior Analyst, Corporate Accounting. The primary responsibility is to serve as the key resource supporting all vehicle services‑related accounting activities. This includes ownership of month‑end close processes, preparation of journal entries, fluctuation analysis, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The role acts as a subject‑matter expert with a strong focus on company car programs, cross‑functional coordination, and compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
Responsibilities- Month‑End Close & Accounting
- Perform all close‑related tasks for vehicle services activities, including preparation of monthly journal entries, fluctuation analysis, and reporting.
- Serve as the subject‑matter expert for company car accounting and related processes.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations for assigned accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Prepare clear and concise variance explanations for leadership review.
- Company Car Program & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary accounting liaison for company car program stakeholders.
- Partner cross‑functionally with HR, Payroll, Shared Services, Fleet Management, Procurement, TFS and other departments to ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
- Support departments with requests related to company car activities, providing guidance and timely resolution.
- Coordinate with third‑party vendors and fleet/auction providers to validate activity, billing, and program‑related transactions.
- Monitor auction sales to ensure proper and timely vehicle sell‑off and accurate financial recording.
- Process auction unwind invoices in Ariba and ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Reporting, Compliance & Audit
- Prepare ad hoc reports to support tax, compliance, and business needs.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and support external and internal audits, including quarterly reviews, annual audits, and SOX controls testing.
- Update and maintain desk procedures, policies, and SOX narratives to reflect current processes and controls.
- Process Optimization & Systems (Blackline Focus)
- Drive optimization and standardization of vehicle services accounting processes, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of account reconciliations within Blackline, including automation, templates, and workflow improvements.
- Leverage Blackline functionality to streamline close activities and strengthen controls.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve data integrity, and enhance transparency through system‑driven solutions.
- Ensure reconciliations and supporting documentation are audit‑ready and aligned with company policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Experience in public and private accounting.
- Strong experience with large data sets and high‑volume transactions.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems.
- Experience with SAP, BPC, and Blackline.
- Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and process improvement skills.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self‑starter with ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
- Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle record acceptable to company standards.
- CPA preferred; SAP S4/Hana Cloud knowledge or experience is a plus.
- SOX and audit experience.
- Automotive industry experience is a bonus.
- Experience analyzing large volumes of data.
