Senior Accountant, Dallas
The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and assist in the administration of all accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely delivery of internal and external financial reports in accordance with US GAAP.
Responsibilities- Perform month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including entering journal entries, determining required accruals, and performing various analysis
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, understand and explain account activity
- Identify, analyze, interpret and process financial and operating transactions and data
- Ensure detailed compliance with internal controls and procedures
- Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements of the company
- Assist with the annual audit by preparing various schedules and responding to audit inquiries
- Assist in financial analysis for senior management to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- 2-4 years experience in public accounting, audit, or similar accounting role; experience in upstream oil and gas not required
- Proficient in financial statement preparation and financial statement analysis
- Advanced-level proficiency in MS Office (e.g., Excel, Pivot Tables, Access) and Data Visualization Tools (e.g., Spotfire)
- Self-starter with strong intellectual horsepower and an entrepreneurial mindset with a bias towards action and avoiding “analysis-paralysis”
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong partnerships across our organization
- Has a great time at work and encourages others to do the same
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in accounting; CPA preferred
