Senior Accountant - Plano

LHH is seeking a Senior Accountant for a growing organization with a complex portfolio of leases. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong ASC 842 expertise in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical accounting knowledge, process improvement experience, and the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally with finance, operations, and legal teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage lease accounting activities in compliance with ASC 842, including lease setup, modifications, renewals, and terminations
• Review and analyze lease calculations, including lease liabilities, amortization schedules, and discount rates
• Support the monthly close process including reconciliations, reporting, and disclosure preparation
• Maintain and enhance internal controls, processes, and documentation related to lease accounting
• Partner with operations and legal teams to ensure lease data accuracy and completeness, including identification of embedded leases
• Review lease‑related balance sheet reconciliations between the subledger and general ledger
• Assist with internal and external audit requests, including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation
• Recommend process improvements and policy updates related to lease accounting and ASC 842 compliance
• Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
• 3+ years of accounting experience required
• Public accounting experience required
• Exposure to lease accounting software such as Fin Query / Lease Query preferred
• Strong understanding of ASC 842 lease accounting standards
• Advanced analytical, organizational, and communication skills
