A global food ingredient manufacturer is seeking a Senior Accountant for their back-office team in Plano, TX. This position is responsible for independently managing all accounting duties, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. In addition to core financial responsibilities, the role involves tax-related activities, coordination with external CPAs, and supporting HR and administrative functions to ensure smooth office operations.

Essential Duties

Financial Management: Independently manages the full closing cycle (month/quarter/year-end) and prepares/reviews journal entries and bank reconciliations.

AP/AR Oversight: Oversees Accounts Payable and Receivable entries, including bill payments, sales invoices, and daily cash receipts.

Banking & Treasury: Maintains bank accounts by monitoring transactions, processing credit card adjustments, and coordinating ACH/wire transfer activities.

Tax & Audit Compliance: Coordinates tax payments, gathers data for 1099 and use tax reporting, and serves as the primary contact for external CPAs regarding annual audits.

Global Coordination: Communicates with the Japan-based headquarters regarding accounting and tax-related matters.

HR & Admin Support: Manages office equipment/supplies, coordinates travel reservations for management, and assists with various HR-related administrative tasks.

Working Hours, Working Style

Hours: Full-Time.

Status: Exempt.

Supervisory: May provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.

Working Location

Travel: Local travel is required; domestic/international travel is rare.

Salary/Benefit

Hourly Rate:$36/hr-41.02/hr (70-80K/yr)

Insurance: 100% premium coverage for the employee; 50% coverage for family members (Medical, Dental, and Vision).

Retirement: 401(k) with a 4% company match.

Other: Annual performance bonus, Paid Time Off (PTO), Sick Leave (SL), and Short-Term Disability (STD).

Holidays

Standard company-observed holidays and paid time off.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

Experience: 5+ years of accounting-related experience preferred, with proven experience in month-end and year-end closing.

Software: Proficiency in Quick Books, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and Windows operating systems.

Language: English fluency is required;
Japanese language skills are preferred for communication with headquarters.
