Job Description

Accounting interns working in the hotel accounting department can be involved in Accounts Payable, Central Accounting, Tax, Treasury, or Payroll. You will be involved in the analysis of financial information and assisting with audits. You will get the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you gain in real-life situations. The hands‑on experience will allow you to make better informed decisions about the career path you take following your graduation.

Ability to work 25 hours a week

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Hospitality, Finance/Accounting Degree or equivalent (in progress)
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and circumstances.
  • Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel (mid‑level preferred).
  • Mid to Advance proficiency in using Word, Access and Power Point applications
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and take a creative approach to problem resolution.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Adhere to the policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain relationships and communication, written & verbal, between all levels of Aimbridge employees, outside providers and government representatives. All written and verbal communication should be professional, clear and concise.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures and systems of internal control for each department functional area and corresponding services.
  • Adhere to Aimbridge document management and retention policies.
  • Timely completion of assignments as assigned.
  • Perform special projects or other tasks as assigned.
  • Research and investigate inquiries presented by properties, regional operations managers and/or owners.
  • Research and provide documentation to Management for internal and external auditors.
  • Pull AP invoices as needed for Audits.
  • Reconciliations of bank statements.
  • Some duties will vary based on daily tasks needed by various departments.
