As a key member in the accounting department, the General Accounting Senior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the monthly close process and special projects as directed by Accounting Management. This position will interact with all departments within the organization. Activities include but are not limited to preparing journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, preparing ad hoc reporting and analyses as needed, and assisting with complex analysis of financial transactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Ownership of key areas of financial statement transactions and/or line of business
- Develop, analyze and manage ad hoc data analysis within the company or for outside parties
- Key point of contact for operational and departmental financial support
- Prepare, review and record Journal Entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Reconciliation of General Ledger Accounts
- Investigate unusual transactions and fluctuations and determine appropriate action if necessary
- Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly closing procedures along with the production of accurate and timely financial data and reports
- Maintain documentation in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls and Company policies
- Interact directly with the independent auditors to discuss and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree a plus
- Experience with Oracle accounting systems preferred; specifically, Oracle Cloud a plus
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and data analytics tools, including Excel, Word, Access, & Power Point
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills as well as the ability to work seamlessly as part of a team or independently
- Ability to work in office Monday through Friday in Plano, TX
