Accounting Manager (Public Accounting) – Hybrid

Our Accounting Services Manager will oversee multiple projects, consult with clients, deliver management reports, provide Quick Books/software training and other consulting services. The role may include new business development and onboarding of new clients. This position serves as Controller for clients outsourcing payroll and accounting services for small to mid‑size clients in industries including healthcare, oil & gas, non‑profit, and entrepreneurial sectors.

The role is hybrid, requiring in‑office presence 2‑3 days a week.

• Consulting engagements with clients needing specific support or services, effectively managing client relationships and expectations.
• Assist the tax department as needed for tax strategy and increase understanding of tax issues.
• Supervise 5–7 accounting services team members to ensure development, learning, and engagement.
• Oversee training programs for Accounting Services staff, identifying gaps and expanding video library to support the division strategy.
• Perform detail review and release of monthly/quarterly/annual recurring project workflows.
• Oversee payroll tax form preparation, approvals, and payroll processing services.
• Consult on employee retention credits and other payroll tax credits such as the work‑opportunity credit.
• Assist in assessing work‑in‑process reports for billing purposes.
• Participate in development of standardized service menus, tech stack, divisional due‑date and workload management, and implementation of outsourcing for data entry.

• BS/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
• At least 5 years of relevant Public Accounting experience, with the ability to manage clients and support the Accounting Service Team.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Quick Books and other relevant software.
