Job Title
Senior Financial Analyst – Cost Accounting (Operations)
The OpportunityLocated in Plano, TX within the Neuromodulation division, this role focuses on cost accounting, manufacturing finance, and financial reporting. It supports manufacturing operations and provides insights to cross‑functional leadership through reporting and presentations.
Key Responsibilities- Own cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold.
- Analyze and explain manufacturing variances (PPV, labor, overhead, yield, absorption) to drive cost transparency and operational performance.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and site leadership to monitor and improve cost performance.
- Support month‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Participate in forecasting and planning cycles (LBE) with a focus on cost and operational assumptions.
- Prepare consolidated reporting, dashboards, and presentations for leadership.
- Provide insights and analysis to support business and operational decisions.
- Build financial models to support cost improvements, productivity initiatives, and capital investments.
- Work with business partners to develop clear financial commentary tied to operational results.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, inventory processes, and company policies.
- Maintain effective collaboration with cross‑functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field, or equivalent experience in cost accounting or manufacturing finance.
- 4+ years of experience in cost accounting and/or manufacturing finance.
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory, and operational finance concepts.
- Experience with financial close, variance analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and financial systems.
- Experience working in a matrixed and cross‑functional environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization.
- Ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience partnering directly with manufacturing and plant operations teams.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) supporting cost accounting and inventory.
- Demonstrated ability to influence operational decisions through financial insight.
- Strong cost accounting foundation with hands‑on operational exposure.
- Ability to connect financial results to plant‑level performance and cost drivers.
- Proactive, detail‑oriented, and results‑driven.
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Effective business partner who can both support and challenge stakeholders.
