Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Plano, Texas in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This position supports day-to-day financial operations by handling billing, payment application, reconciliations, and customer account maintenance with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness. The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of receivables processes and can keep client account activity organized while helping maintain reliable financial records.

Responsibilities:

- Manage sales tax calculations, invoicing, and reporting for customer accounts while ensuring compliance and accuracy.

- Update and maintain customer pricing structures, discount terms, and prepaid service balances within accounting records.

- Generate and send customer statements on a recurring schedule to support clear and timely account communication.

- Apply incoming payments, post cash activity, and follow up on overdue invoices to support collections efforts.

- Reconcile account activity and investigate discrepancies related to billing, payments, and client balances.

- Support accounts receivable and general accounting tasks by keeping financial data current and properly documented. Requirements - Experience in accounting support, with practical knowledge of accounts receivable and billing operations.

- Proficiency in account reconciliation, including customer accounts and bank account activity.

- Familiarity with general ledger processes and core accounting functions.

- Ability to manage invoicing, payment processing, and collections with close attention to detail.

- Working knowledge of sales tax handling and financial record accuracy.

- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage client-facing account documentation effectively.
