Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic
Essential Functions
- Perform oil and filter changes
- Rotate, balance, and inspect tires
- Check and top off fluids (engine oil, coolant, brake, transmission, washer fluid, etc.)
- Inspect vehicle components such as brakes, belts, hoses, wipers, lights, and batteries
- Complete multi-point vehicle inspections and report findings to service advisors
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all dealership and manufacturer safety procedures
- Accurately document work performed and recommended services
- Assist senior technicians as needed
- Provide professional, courteous service to customers at all times

Minimum Qualifications /Skills- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Basic mechanical knowledge or automotive training preferred
- Ability to learn dealership processes and manufacturer standards
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Customer service-oriented and friendly demeanor
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as a team
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses heavy equipment and exposure to noise, fumes, and automotive chemicals.
Physical Demands- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels
- Requires standing for extended period with frequent stretching, reaching, walking and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance
- May require some driving and typing. Required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles
- Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity
