OverviewThe Product Manager for our Electronic Health Record (EHR) software plays a critical role in shaping the direction and success of our product offerings designed for human service providers. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of healthcare technology, user needs, and market trends. The Product Manager will work with cross-functional teams, including development, customer success, and sales, to define product vision, create roadmaps, and deliver solutions that meet client needs.
Strong leadership, communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.
- Define the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market needs.
- Define and prioritize product features and roadmaps based on market research, user feedback, and business goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear product specifications.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, and state-specific mandates.
- Conduct competitive analysis and stay informed on trends in human services and health IT.
- Lead agile product development cycles, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and user acceptance testing.
- Partner with UX/UI designers to create intuitive workflows for clinicians and case managers.
- Monitor product performance and user satisfaction, using data to drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as a product expert internally and externally, supporting sales and marketing efforts.
- Oversee delivery of timely, complete, high-quality products.
- Oversee Quality Assurance to create and execute testing.
- Prioritize and manage individual tasks within project timelines to ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to identify and resolve software defects.
- Develop and manage project timelines and feature implementation based on resources and estimates.
- Collaborate with teams to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions.
- Work with third-party vendors, customers, and users to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Develop sprint plans and project plans for development.
- Plan and schedule releases and oversee proper notification to users.
- Prepare regular reports to the Vice President on project status and usage.
- Monitor usage and user feedback.
- Work with the President and Vice President to set new development priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Public Health, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MPH, MHA) is a plus, especially with a focus on healthcare or technology.
- 3+ years of product management experience, preferably in health tech or human services.
- Strong understanding of EHR systems, human service workflows, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working in agile development environments.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently and as a team.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
