Day Camp Counselor (Temporary - 20 hours) – Camp Cimarron

• Direct recreation activities while maintaining discipline and safety.
• Assist in teaching games, arts and crafts, drama, and music activities.
• Render first aid in case of minor injury.
• Assist in issuing and collecting camp equipment.
• Assist in conducting special events for the camp program.
• Maintain activity records; assist in preparing reports and newsletters.
• Ensure regular and consistent attendance for assigned schedule.
• Perform other related duties as directed.

• Knowledge of recreational and athletic activities, basic arts and crafts, and creative dramatic procedures.
• Good knowledge of outdoor recreation practices if assigned to the outdoor program.
• Excellent communication with children, adults, and staff.
• High school diploma or equivalent; minimum age 16.
• At least four months experience working with children aged 6‑12.
• Must be able to pass CPR and first aid certification.
• Must pass drug test, driver license check, criminal history background check, and social security number verification.

Must possess mobility to work in and around recreational facilities or outdoor sites; strength, stamina, and mobility for light to medium physical work; ability to perform rescue techniques; hearing and speech for communication; ability to lift up to 30 pounds and use proper equipment. Exposure to loud noise, heights, hot temperatures, or other environmental factors may occur.
