We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and patient‑focused Dental Surgical Assistant to join our oral surgery team. This role is essential in supporting our surgeons during procedures while ensuring a safe, efficient, and exceptional experience for every patient. This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced clinical environment and is passionate about delivering high‑quality care. You will play a key role in both clinical support and patient interaction, contributing directly to the success of the practice.
PrincipalResponsibilities and Duties
- Assist surgeons during oral surgery procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Prepare patients for surgery, review post‑operative instructions, and provide reassurance to ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain strict sterilization protocols and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Set up and break down surgical rooms efficiently, ensuring readiness for each procedure.
- Take and process dental radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging as needed.
- Monitor and maintain clinical inventory, ensuring adequate stock of surgical materials and supplies.
- Work closely with surgeons, front office, and clinical team members to ensure seamless patient flow and operational efficiency.
- Support additional clinical and administrative tasks as needed to meet the needs of the practice.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous dental or oral surgery assisting experience preferred.
- Current certification as a Dental Assistant (if required by state).
- Radiology certification preferred (if applicable).
- Knowledge of sterilization protocols and infection control standards.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast‑paced surgical environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude with a team‑oriented mindset.
- Willingness to learn, grow, and take on additional responsibilities.
