Dental Lab Technician Assistant

Texas Implants & Dental Specialists is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dental Lab Assistant to join our team. In this dual-role position, you will provide chairside support to our doctors while helping manage the daily flow of laboratory cases. Responsibilities include preparing operatories and patients for treatment, taking x-rays, documenting patient information, assisting with clinical procedures, and supporting office opening and closing duties.

You will also coordinate lab cases, communicate with doctors and external labs, and ensure all cases are received accurately and on time to support a seamless patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional chairside support during a variety of dental procedures while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment for patient care and maintain cleanliness throughout the day.
  • Take digital x-rays, capture intraoral scans and impressions, fabricate temporary restorations, and perform expanded duties as permitted by state regulations.
  • Accurately document treatment notes, update patient records, and ensure all clinical and laboratory documentation is completed and maintained.
  • Coordinate all incoming and outgoing laboratory cases, ensuring restorations, appliances, and prosthetics are delivered accurately and on schedule.
  • Fabricate and prepare in-house dental appliances, including study models, whitening trays, bite guards, temporary partials, and other laboratory products.
  • Monitor laboratory case timelines, communicate with external labs and providers, and proactively resolve issues to prevent treatment delays.
  • Maintain quality control standards for impressions, scans, models, and laboratory work to ensure optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Organize and maintain laboratory inventory, equipment, supplies, and model storage while ensuring a clean, efficient work environment.
  • Perform sterilization procedures and adhere to OSHA, infection control, and office safety protocols.
  • Assist with patient education, post-operative instructions, and seamless handoff to front office team members.
  • Support daily office operations through opening and closing duties, team meetings, inventory management, and other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Dental Assistant License or Certification from an accredited Dental Assisting program
  • 2 years general dentistry experience (specialized experience preferred)
  • CPR Certification
