Oral Surgery Associates of North Texas (OSANT) is a specialized practice with five board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons serving patients in the North Texas area. The team provides a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dental implant surgery, wisdom tooth removal, and corrective jaw surgery. OSANT also offers advanced techniques to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and a focus on optimal patient comfort.
In addition, the practice diagnoses and treats facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures, delivering comprehensive care for conditions affecting the mouth, teeth, and facial regions.
The Surgical Dental Assistant is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Plano, TX. This role supports oral and maxillofacial surgeons during surgical procedures, including preparing treatment rooms, organizing instruments, and assisting chairside throughout surgeries. Daily responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, following infection control protocols, and monitoring patient comfort before, during, and after treatment. The Surgical Dental Assistant also manages clinical documentation, updates patient records, provides post‑operative instructions, and collaborates with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality patient care.
Qualifications- Strong foundation in Dental Care and Dentistry, with experience supporting clinical or surgical procedures.
- Knowledge of Oral Surgery practices and protocols, including assisting with extractions, implants, and other surgical interventions.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Infection Control, including sterilization, aseptic technique, and adherence to OSHA and CDC guidelines.
- Commitment to high‑quality Patient Care, with the ability to support patients before and after surgery and communicate post‑operative instructions clearly.
- Relevant certification or training as a Dental Assistant;
Surgical or Oral Surgery assisting experience preferred. - Current CPR/BLS certification and familiarity with dental radiography and electronic health records are beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
