Star Dental Partners (SDP) is seeking a Dental Hygiene Director to join our collaborative and fast‑paced team. This position will play a key role in the success of the organization as we continue to scale and grow. Reporting to the Chief Clinical Officer, this role will be critical in developing standardized clinical protocols, continuing education, AI implementation & adoption, and recruitment efforts.
As the Dental Hygiene Director, you will partner closely with the Star Dental Partners Clinical Advisory Board members, providing clinical guidance and support for our more than 300 hygienists across more than ten states. This newly created role signals the continued growth of the Star Dental Partners footprint, now with 137 partner practices. Candidates with prior experience within a DSO environment as a hygiene director are highly preferred.

Responsibilities and Qualifications- Promote SDP’s Standard of Care across the organization in partnership with the Chief Clinical Officer
- Optimize and promote the implementation and use of clinical AI technology
- Support hygienist recruiting, onboarding and retention efforts
- Facilitate hygienist CE, training and professional development programs
- Implement hygiene‑focused clinical protocols in partnership with SDP’s Dental Advisory Board
- Other projects and areas of support as business needs arise
- Associate’s degree required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred - Minimum 3 years experience in a multi‑site DSO environment as a hygiene director
- Minimum 2 years experience chairside as a practicing hygienist
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented work ethic
- Ability to work collaboratively with all team members, both at the practice level and Support Center
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and works well under pressure
- Self‑motivated and goal‑oriented, with the initiative to work independently
- Strong ability to prioritize, multi‑task, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrates integrity, responsibility, accountability, and a high level of professionalism
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook)
- Ability to travel frequently, (50) fifty percent or more
- Located in the southeast or mid‑atlantic (TX, LA, TN, GA, SC, NC, MD, VA, FL preferred) with proximity to a major airport
