Responsible for preparing and delivering coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to the college's core values, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meet professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teach courses according to the schedule and approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the Division faculty and overseen by the associate dean/director.
- Assignments may be on one or more campuses or off‑site locations and may include evening and weekend programs; online instruction is not required.
- Teach Dual Credit courses as assigned.
- Perform supplemental functions and other duties as assigned, maintaining all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and core values.
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Academic preparation in the teaching field, including at least 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline to be taught.
- Teaching experience is desired.
- This position is Security Sensitive, therefore candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.
- Required applied instruction in the flute.
Sedentary work; may involve occasional lifting up to 10 pounds and frequent minimal force. The role includes sitting most of the time with occasional walking and standing, repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. The office environment is relatively free from hazardous conditions.
