This is a full‑time, on‑site Special Education Teacher role located in Plano, TX. The Special Education Teacher will plan, deliver, and adapt instruction for students with a range of disabilities, ensuring alignment with IEPs and IB PYP inquiry‑based learning objectives. Responsibilities include assessing student needs, developing and implementing individualized education plans, monitoring progress, and maintaining accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations.
The role involves collaborating closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to provide inclusive learning experiences and accommodations in middle school and primary grade settings as needed. The teacher will also participate in professional development, contribute to school‑wide initiatives, and support a positive, culturally responsive classroom environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities and implementing appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Strong teaching skills, including lesson planning, classroom management, and differentiated instruction in K–8 or middle school settings.
- Special education expertise, including knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and relevant state and federal regulations.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and external service providers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- Valid Texas teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility to obtain certification within a defined timeframe.
- Experience or strong interest in inquiry‑based learning and the IB PYP framework.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural school community and support inclusive, student‑centered practices.
