Instructional Support Specialist
Provide expert support in a defined instructional or programmatic area to strengthen teaching and learning across campuses. Collaborate with teachers, campus leaders, and district departments to develop aligned curriculum resources, support implementation of evidence-based practices, and design and deliver professional learning. Serve as a subject matter expert and consultant, using data to inform targeted coaching, resource development, and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree (preferred)
- Valid Texas teaching certificate
- ESL Supplemental certification (preferred)
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Deep knowledge of effective instructional practices, curriculum design, and assessment
- Ability to analyze and use data to inform instruction and professional learning
- Strong coaching and facilitation skills to support adult learners
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with instructional technology and digital tools
Experience:
- Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience
- Experience providing instructional coaching or supporting teachers and leaders preferred
- Experience developing and delivering professional learning
- Experience supporting and facilitating professional learning communities
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Collaborate with campus and district staff to support implementation of district instructional priorities
- Provide targeted coaching and support to teachers and campus leaders within area of expertise
- Design and develop curriculum resources, instructional tools, and assessments aligned to standards
- Analyze student performance data to inform instructional decisions and intervention strategies
- Plan and deliver professional learning that models effective instructional practices
- Support and strengthen professional learning communities through facilitation and resource development
- Serve as a liaison between campuses and district departments to ensure alignment and communication
- Monitor implementation of instructional practices and provide feedback to support continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to support, implementation, and impact
- Stay current on research, trends, and best practices to inform work
- Demonstrate professionalism, collaboration, and a commitment to district goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
