Kids Ministry Director

Position Summary

The Kids Ministry Director is responsible for Sunday Preschool & Elementary ministry,ensuring a high level of care and teaching for kids, volunteers, leadership teams, and event attendees. The Kids Ministry Director will also work with the Family Ministry Team and the Connect Camps Ministry Team. This role is designed to flex toward either Preschool or Elementary ministry depending on the

• Successfully set the course & lead the ministry through practices that align with City Bridge
• vision & values.
• Effectively recruit, coach & develop volunteer teams to do the work of the ministry.
• Effectively recruit, develop, and invest your staff team, keeping the excellence bar high.
• Communicate with clarity both internally and externally leveraging available channels &
• Lead with good judgement on what to communicate up to leadership.
• Own event & project planning for successful outcomes.
• Serve as overall thought partner within City Bridge.
• Contribute to the operational effectiveness of City Bridge through:
  • Develop and maintain annual operating budget to steward ministry resources
  • Timely approval and submission of expense reports
  • Cross-ministry calendaring coordination and communication
  • Approve payroll on a bi-weekly basis of part-time staff
• Professional execution of other job responsibilities as requested.

• Oversee all aspects of Sunday Kids ministry, including:
  • Curriculum development and management
  • Volunteer recruiting, training, communication, and retention
  • Classroom equipment and organization
  • Sunday systems and procedures.
  • Host weekly Leader Huddle meetings
  • Host weekly Sunday morning games and welcome for Elementary ministry
  • Prepare 3-4 teaching talks/month depending on volunteer teacher availability
• Recruit, train and develop volunteer teaching team for Elementary Ministry
• Schedule and conduct baptism interviews
• Utilize the church database to keep ministry data up to date to ensure efficient ministry operation so families feel known and cared for.
• Oversee Kids Ministry annual leader kick-off, trainings, engagement and celebration events.
• Partner with the Family Team members to plan, coordinate, and carry out Parent/Child events.
• Partner with the Family Team to develop and implement coordinated strategy for kids’ discipleship at City Bridge.
• Serve on Connect Camps Team to coordinate and carry out Connect Camps.
• Effectively lead, manage, and develop Kids Ministry staff team, keeping the excellence bar and staff trusts high. This includes hiring, training, and task delegation.
• Participate in City Bridge staff required activities:
  • Weekly staff prayer, annual staff and team retreats, Christmas Party
  • Christmas Eve, Easter, Good Friday, and other “all hands‑on deck” events as needed
