Job Description
Responsible for performing testing and evaluation on a variety of products to comply with client‑provided or national, international, and industry‑specific performance and durability standards. The position requires writing reports, communicating with clients, and traveling at least 25% of the time.

What You'll Do- Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the equipment under test.
- Read and understand client‑provided or published performance or product safety standards.
- Read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and manufacturing instructions.
- Under project scope, identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
- Follow established test plans.
- Set up and operate equipment under test; perform and document simple repairs as needed.
- Conduct construction review, create evaluation reports and test plans, conduct/witness testing, and resolve technical/admin issues to power electronics standards.
- Set up and operate standard test equipment such as temperature/humidity chambers, programmable power supplies, PLC or other controllers, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric actuators, AC/DC power supplies and loads, oscilloscope, multi‑meter, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multi‑meter, surge generator, over‑voltage tester, environmental condition chamber, and articulated probes. Use hand tools to build/calibrate test fixtures.
- Perform product testing in accordance with standards. Core tests may include battery cycling, temperature/humidity soak or cycle, durability cycling, voltage and current measurement, dielectric tests, pressure, abnormal and fault condition simulation, rain, dust, corrosion.
- Compile test results, data, and product description into final reports using established report templates; submit reports for approval.
- Communicate project status and test results to clients, sales personnel, and management throughout testing.
- Mentor less senior technical personnel.
- Provide information for quotes such as project length, site needed, rental equipment, samples, and standards.
- Follow sample handling procedures; log samples in/out; move equipment as needed; package samples for shipment.
- Provide sales support, attend client visits, and ongoing support as required.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with focus on electrical circuits or renewable energy.
- 5+ years of experience in a directly related field.
- Prior direct experience in the renewable energy field.
- Direct experience and knowledge of US, Canadian, and other international product safety standards such as UL 9540, UL 9540A, UL 1741, UL 3141, UL 1973, UL 1703, PV Trackers – UL 3703 (ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC).
- Experience using Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑tasking environment with shifting priorities.
- Detail‑oriented with effective prioritization and time management.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Customer‑focused and quality driven.
- Ability to travel as business needs dictate (25%‑50%).
- A valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
- Applicants will be required to complete an I‑9 to verify eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Applicants must reside in and legally work in the United States.
- Prior project management experience.
