Responsibilities- We are looking for a Firmware Engineer to develop and maintain embedded firmware for our Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) platform. You will build reliable control and monitoring functions on STM
32-based controllers, integrating Modbus (RTU/TCP) and low-level hardware interfaces for pumps, fans, sensors, and safety mechanisms. This role works closely with hardware, system integration, and test teams to deliver production-ready firmware with strong quality and traceability. - Develop embedded firmware on STM
32 (bare-metal/RTOS as applicable) for CDU control functions (pump/fan control, sensor acquisition, alarms, interlocks). - Implement and maintain Modbus RTU/TCP communication, register maps, and diagnostics to support HMI/PLC/SCADA integration.
- Design and implement peripheral drivers and board support: I2C/SPI/UART/RS-485/ADC/PWM/GPIO/Watchdog.
- Define and verify control logic and fault handling (over-temp, low-flow, leak detect, dry-run prevention, sensor failover).
- Support manufacturing test and bring-up: production programming, calibration flows, self-test/BIST, and test fixtures.
- Debug issues across HW/FW boundary; perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
- Maintain engineering documentation (requirements, design notes, interface specs, test evidence) and support traceability.
- Bachelor’s degree in EE/CE/CS or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years experience in embedded firmware development.
- Strong programming skills in C (and familiarity with embedded debugging).
- Hands-on experience with STM
32 (or similar MCU) and common peripherals. - Experience with serial communication and fieldbus protocols (RS-485 preferred).
- Comfortable using Git, issue tracking, and basic CI/build systems.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with CDU / thermal / liquid cooling / industrial control
- Deep experience with Modbus RTU/TCP, register definition, timing/robustness, and interoperability testing.
- Experience with RTOS (e.g., Azure RTOS) and real-time constraints.
- Familiarity with safety/quality processes (e.g., coding guidelines, static analysis, unit tests, traceability).
- Experience with motor control or actuator control (pump/fan speed control, tach feedback, PID).
- Fluent in Mandarin
