Overview
Omni On Power is seeking a PWB Layout Designer responsible for meeting project schedules and quality requirements in alignment with the company’s design processes. This role involves executing printed wiring board (PWB) designs for power supply products while ensuring compliance with established guidelines and standards. This role will report to the R&D Senior Technical Manager and is located at our HQ in Plano, TX.
Key Responsibilities- Design PWBs that meet schedule and quality requirements according to company design processes.
- Apply knowledge of existing PWB guidelines for power supply products and ensure proper execution.
- Collaborate effectively with global and local teams; demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Control and manage PWB and parts library files.
- Work with cross-functional teams to address layout-related issues during new product development, prototype builds, testing, and qualification.
- Support design-for-manufacture (DFM) principles throughout the process.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology; background in power supply PWBs required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in PWB design, including placement, routing, and fabrication/assembly post-process.
- Proficiency in Cadence Allegro tools.
- Experience with Windchill (documentation and file management) and SAP.
- Knowledge of low and high-power PWBs, high-speed digital PWBs, and IPC/manufacturing standards (DFM, DFT, assembly, fabrication).
- Ability to work with PWB fabricators and apply EMI compliance and safety rules related to power.
- Strong understanding of electronic circuits and measurement techniques.
- Knowledge of thermal management considerations in PCB design.
- Experience working in data center or telecom environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
