Position Summary: Develop, test and document reference designs for new products by collaborating with customers, product management and product definition engineers. Translate application requirements into evaluation boards that demonstrate component performance under specific operating conditions using CAD tools for schematics, PCB layouts and circuit simulation. Demonstrate test procedures, present results to customers, and collaborate with local laboratories and other Wurth locations to conduct EMI/EMC tests in accordance with IEC/EN 61000, CISPR and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, test and document reference design evaluation boards.
- Perform electrical measurements on evaluation boards: efficiency, temperature rise, ripple voltage, transient response and critical waveforms for semiconductor components.
- Correlate component performance on evaluation boards to component‑level parameters.
- Create application notes and test reports for component evaluation.
- Demonstrate test procedures and present results to customers.
- Collaborate with local laboratories and other Wurth locations for EMI/EMC testing.
- Proficiency with mechanical or physical design CAD (AutoCAD or equivalent).
- Proficiency with circuit design CAD (LT Spic, Spice or equivalent).
- Proficiency with PCB design CAD (Altium, Cadence, PADS, KiCad or equivalent).
- Experience with oscilloscope, vector network analyzer, impedance analyzers and power electronics circuit measurements.
- Familiarity with test equipment for characterizing passive components and soldering/ component replacement.
- Effective troubleshooting of hardware issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent documentation skills.
Experience: BSEE or BSET degree, or 5 years of professional experience in electrical design and characterization.
