As a Network Engineer II, you will be involved in designing, implementing, and maintaining Fiber Light’s network infrastructure, working collaboratively with senior engineers and cross- functional teams. You will ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our network while gaining exposure to advanced routing protocols, network automation, and Layer 2 technologies. This role provides opportunities to take on increasing responsibility in telecommunications engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the design, implementation, and management of network infrastructures.
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols, including BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS.
- Develop and maintain network automation scripts using Python and Ansible.
- Use Git Hub for version control and collaboration on network automation projects.
- Conduct network performance analysis and implement optimizations.
- Ensure network security and adherence to industry standards and compliance.
- Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to junior engineers on technical tasks.
- Help document network configurations, procedures, and basic designs.
- 5 years of relevant experience in networking or telecommunications.
- Solid experience with BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS routing protocols.
- Proficiency in Python and Ansible for network automation.
- Experience with Git Hub for version control and collaboration.
- Strong understanding of Layer 2 networking technologies, including MPLS and EVPL.
- Proven problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper, and other major network equipment manufacturers.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP) are a plus.
- Knowledge of network security practices and technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with SDN (Software‑Defined Networking) technologies is a plus.
- Experience working with remote Technicians on site.
